Your very own FM Derby Girls are joining MSUM’s Go Pink Campaign to benefit the Roger Maris Cancer Center.
Wear pink in support and come have an awesome time with us!
2010 was a great year for FMDG, so great that we were able to make over $14,000 worth of charitable contributions! We could not have done this without all the support and fans from the community. We hope to make 2011 just as great of a year, and hopefully better!
Thank you to all who support us and those who let us be a part of their events and charities!
FMDG is supporting the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center (RACC) at our December 18th bout by hosting a personal item (hygiene) drive and donations. We are asking all fans to assist us in this cause by donating a personal hygiene item or monetary donation to help the RACC. While many of us this season are safe and enjoying holiday cheer, many women and children are in crisis situations and don’t even have basic things like shampoo or toothpaste. Please consider donating an item and helping our community defeat domestic violence.
The mission of the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center of Fargo-Moorhead is to provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and counseling services free of charge to all persons affected by domestic violence or sexual abuse, and to provide education and prevention programs to end personal violence in society.
Founded in 1977 through the grass-roots efforts of concerned citizens, the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center of Fargo-Moorhead was one of the first programs in the Midwest to serve battered women and sexual assault victims. In our first year we provided services to 37 victims of sexual assault and 73 battered women.
Over the past 31 years we’ve expanded our services, while at the same time continuing to provide them at no cost.
During our 31st year, 2008, we provided services to 1173 victims of sexual assault and 1727 victims of domestic violence. We assisted with 104 Orders for Protection, observed 1903 court hearings related to domestic violence and sexual assault, and reviewed 1190 police incident reports. Our staff provided services in six surrounding counties and presented 795 educational programs to 16,377 people in our community.

Caleb Decker was born 10 weeks premature on April 28, 2006 to Matthew & Savanna Decker. Savanna aka Savvy DeckHer is one of our very own Derby Girls. Caleb spent 51 days in the NICU and had to overcome many medical issues. Due to his early birth, Caleb has Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, and in 2010, a DNA test revealed that Caleb had Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). Most children with DMD are wheelchair-bound between 7-11 years and do not live beyond their 20’s. The DMD diagnosis for Caleb is a hard pill for Caleb’s family to swallow. Children are supposed to outlive their parents. Caleb had to fight so hard in the NICU to stay alive, and now he will have to fight even harder for his life. There is NO CURE for DMD. Caleb’s parents continue to have faith, pray for a cure, and to provide him with the best care and quality of life while he is with us.
